Designed for Bisque Radiators in 2006, the Pillow Radiator is the first in a series of blown metal radiator designs which will be made available in a variety of colours and textures. As a water filled radiator, it works on the standard principle of circulating water through a series of waterways - in Pillow's 'case', blown sections hold the water. The importance of both form and function are becoming increasingly relevant in radiator design. This radical new design not only challenges preconceptions of traditional radiator forms, but also combines a decorative aesthetic with increased functionality. The result is a compelling sculptural form and an efficient heating device which appears to float on the wall. The prototype of Pillow is one of Bisque’s ‘Designs for the Future’, and was showcased at 100% Design 2006.
